Building & Keeping Healthy Relationships in Retirement - socialization and isolation, effects on mental health, finding friends among common interests, healthy communication Mindfulness & Gratitude - gratitude journals, the benefits of gratitude, mindfulness and meditation. Decluttering Our Lives - cleaning out not just our stuff but other aspects of our world like digital clutter and mental clutter Trying New Things & Staying Creative - revisiting old hobbies, adjusting hobbies to our abilities, exploring things we may not have thought about trying Exploring Love Languages - learning about the 5 love languages and how we can use that to better our relationships



Marissa Lutz is the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Program Coordinator for Valley Program for Aging Services, a local organization whose mission is to empower those 60 years and older with the resources and opportunities they need to lead engaged lives. Marissa holds programs all over the city and county that focus on a variety of topics from general education, nutrition, art, and much more. Whether you are approaching retirement, or well beyond, VPAS can help you navigate the joys and challenges that come with aging and caregiving.
