This 70 minute online module gives an overview of what constitutes child abuse and neglect under the Code of Virginia, including physical, emotional and sexual abuse as well as medical and general neglect. These types are defined and the student is given criteria for recognizing cases of abuse and neglect. The module offers guidelines on when and how to report to Child Protective Services cases of abuse or neglect that the student suspects from perception or observation of children or caretakers. It also outlines what to expect when making a report.


IMPORTANT: After completing this course, you must follow these steps to receive credit:
1. Save your certificate to your computer.
2. Email a copy of your certificate to Training Coordinator
