Before taking this module, you must complete the EIV online course Three-Step Counseling for Home Visitors.

This 45-minute online module will give home visitors and paraprofessionals who work with pregnant women and families information they can use to promote breastfeeding. The module offers information on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, strategies to help mothers overcome common barriers they might face in choosing or initiating breastfeeding, and strategies to prevent and deal with common problems. The module includes "red flags" to watch for that indicate that a mother may need additional help as well as resources that may be available to support pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
