Description

Join us in learning the art of English Paper Piecing. This form of quilt piecing uses paper shapes covered in fabric to form the designs. We will talk about using hexagons, diamonds, triangles and other shapes to form different designs. We will explore the traditional thread basting and the modern glue basting. This type of quilt piecing is great to work on at home or on the go. No sewing machine required.

Instructor: In the 1990's, Shellie Gum discovered quilting and has been quilting ever since! She leans towards modern quilting using jewel tones and batiks. She has many quilts started and can't seem to get enough. Shellie owns a long-arm quilting machine, the Baby Lock Crown Jewel on a Momentum frame, and she loves using it!

Additional Fee: Please visit Ragtime Fabrics prior to the first class to obtain your supply list and choose your fabrics and other supplies. Price will be approximately $35-$40 which includes all fabric, batting, thread, glue stick and paper pieces. Students will also need basic sewing tools such as fabric scissors, straight pins, and seam guides.
