Description

Great American Singers covers the 1900's up to the 1960's, exploring the life and times of the most popular singers of each time period and how their styles were influenced by other singers, the times they lived in, and their personal histories. Part of the course will be a sharing of favorite singers brought in by class attendees.

Instructor: In a career spanning more than 25 years, Barbara Martin has covered a lot of musical ground. As a performer and teacher she has studied the great American melting pot of country, folk, blues, and jazz. She has performed and taught American music history with a zest for always learning something new.
