F16T1 Fall Season at Montpelier
Coach Tour: Fall Season at Montpelier
The lifelong home of James Madison
Thursday, September 29, 2016
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in historic Orange County, lies the Madisons' plantation. Dolley defined the role of First Lady. She was politically and socially savvy, a consummate mover and shaker of her times. Her husband James, a statesman, Father of the United States Constitution, and fourth President lived, entertained, and worked at Montpelier. Doug Smith, the Vice President and overseer of the Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution, has graciously offered to welcome us to Montpelier and describe how the James Madison's thinking and writing continue to impact the 21st century. The Center for the Constitution is America's premier constitutional training center, a world-class teaching academy replete with seminars, on-line courses, and exploration of significant documents. Over 35,000 people from all 50 states and over 80 countries around the world have participated in the Center for the Constitution's programs.
The tour package includes the following:
