A12 Catholicism Primer
We will cover the basics of Catholicism, including the seven sacraments, church structure, sainthood, Mariology, Christology from a Catholic perspective and the concept of Purgatory, among other things. With a 2000 year history, the Catholic Church stimulates much discussion and a lively one is encouraged in the Lifelong Learning format. In addition, we will take a tour of Blessed Sacrament which goes back to 1907.Instructor: Fred La Spina is a deacon in the Catholic Church and worked in parish ministry for 35 years. He has also taught religion at JMU for 30 years.
