F18A26 Senior Singer's Ensemble
Come and SING!Would you like to improve your voice? Have you taken a Senior Singing class and want a place to continue to sing enjoyable songs and grow as a singer? Perhaps you like to sing and are interested in a short term ensemble? This is the place for you! This 10-233k ensemble will feature "intro to choir" songs (no Messiah here). Using choral pieces in 2, 3, and 4 voice parts, the director will teach music with easy to moderate challenge for those who have already taken the Senior Singing class or any singer who would like to have a fun and limited time ensemble experience. We will continue good singing and breathing practices, while developing songs with more musical depth, concentrating on 4 - 6 pieces of music. Finally, at the end of the class, we will share our pieces in a low stress performance atmosphere.
Instructor: Denise Schulz is a graduate student in the JMU School of Music. After many years as a church musician, she has come back to concentrate her study on senior adult singing for mental and physical well-being. Denise has taught three session of Senior Singers classes through LLI and is now offering the Singing for Better Breathing class.
Additional fee: $15 payable to the instructor for printed music.
