F19A10 Memory and Aging
Every 65 seconds another American develops Alzheimer's disease - the health epidemic of this century. This course will look at healthy aging versus signs and symptoms of memory impairment, healthy habits as we age, and delve into the basics of Alzheimer's and related dementia. We will discuss effective communication strategies as well as partnering with your doctor and future planning for care change. We can all become better educated in our communities to decrease stigma and provide tools for living with Alzheimer's to people diagnosed and their care partners.Instructor: Annie Marrs, LCSW, Family Services Director, has been with the Alzheimer's Association for over ten years and is part of the Program Services Team. This course will be instructed by both staff and volunteer community educators to bring education, awareness, and guidance to the attendees.
