The 5th Through 10th Century Scandanavian Invasions of Britain and Ireland
Following the 5th century abandonment of Britain by the Romans, invaders from Denmark and Northern Germany established a network of kingdoms. In the 9th century, raiders from Denmark and Norway challenged these kingdoms in the Viking Era.Clarence Geier is Professor emeritus in Anthropology at JMU. Has taught several courses for LLI on the Civilizations of Mexico, North America, Vikings, Celts of England and Ireland and Celtic Christianity.
