What If?

The history of the United States has often hung in the balance. A few votes, the weather, a good or bad decision, results of a battle, and/or just plain luck could have rewritten our history books. What if . . . President Kennedy wasn't assassinated? Colonel Chamberlain couldn't hold Little Round Top? Henry Wallace wasn't on the ticket with FDR in 1944? It was a warm clear night on August 28/29, 1776 in New York City? The class will vote on additional what if's to be discussed in our last session.

GEORGE GRUNER is a local historian with over 40 years of teaching experience. He has worked as a docent at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum, and in Guest Services at Monticello. George has taught classes on the Virginian born presidents, prominent first ladies, women's suffrage.
