From Vines to Wine
*Additional fee of $60 for wine to be tasted in class, payable to the instructor Ideally I would like to teach a four session course starting with vineyard, how the vines are cultivated to produce grapes for wine making. If the season allows, we would love for the students to see and taste the various grapes we grow. Over the next three sessions I would like to discuss how wine is made, one session being on white wines, another on reds and lastly on specialty wines. In each of these sessions we can discuss the wine making process and different components such as aging, vessels, corks, bottles and how it pertains to each of these styles of wine. My husband and I are the owners of Brix and Columns Vineyards in McGaheysville, VA. We are a small farm winery and vineyard. I oversee the day-to-day operation of the winery and manage the vineyard. I have a passion for Virginia wine and agriculture, owning the winery/vineyard gives great insight into both areas. Please contact our office regarding availability of this course:
