Businesswoman and socialite, Marjorie Merriweather Post, established Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens to reflect her lifestyle and display her collections, including the largest and most comprehensive assemblages of Russian Imperial art outside of Russia and important examples of eighteenth-century French decorative art. Hillwood also has extensive gardens and one of the most important orchid collections in America. We will begin our visit with a docent led tour of the gardens walking among the lovely spring flora. After the garden tour, we will enter the mansion and enjoy another docent led tour of the home/museum. The theme in May 2024 will highlight the Parisian influence of her collection. Following the tours, we will partake in a leisurely buffet luncheon prepared on the grounds for our enjoyment. There will be time after lunch to visit the gift shop and orchid filled greenhouses. Please contact our office regarding availability of this course:
