Interpretive Flower Arranging Based Upon Musical Visualization
Drawing inspiration from unusual places, the instructor will lead the class on an amazing journey translating the artistic expression found in different genres of music into a floral creation to enjoy in our homes. Even though this course builds upon the Fall 2019 session, which explored interpreting famous works of art through floral arrangement, no prerequisite is required to take this course.
Continuing with creative interpretation, we will create a class arrangement each week based upon a piece of music. Two classes will be lecture/demonstration with discussion while the other two sessions will include a lecture/discussion with students completing their own floral interpretation. This class meets four times for 2 ½ hours each meeting.
* $17 supply fee for florals payable to instructor at first class meeting. Students will also be given suggestions about what types of containers, floral foam, and common household/office supplies (i.e. heavy-duty scissors) to bring to each session.
Carla VanPelt Yoder has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and minors in both Art History and Theatre Design. Designing for over 25 years in the floral industry, Carla brings a fun and unique perspective to floral arranging.
