S20A23 French Conversational Skills I
Learning a language can be fun, and this course uses a variety of methods such as role-play, discussion, debate, oral presentation, and board games to help students learn the basics of French grammar and conversation. The goal is to build up confidence to participate in basic conversation, and we will focus on fluency, pronunciation and the common everyday vocabulary used by French people. Authentic documents such as songs from francophone artists and short videos will be used to help with listening comprehension.
Mélanie Munier Caskill has been a French instructor at James Madison University since 2017. She was born and raised in France where she was a journalist and a French teacher before moving to Harrisonburg in 2016. Mélanie has a Masters degree in Science of Education, and loves sharing her passion for French language, culture and history.
