Eat Like A Greek!

The Mediterranean diet has been hailed as the best diet for overall health. This course will provide building blocks for eating simply, healthfully, mindfully, and seasonally. Class members will learn to prepare traditional recipes using fresh produce, herbs, and spices. It is a hands-on class, where we will chop, season, and learn authentic recipes from Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon.
*Required Materials: Please bring a cutting board and knife to class.
*Food materials: $20/person to cover food costs payable to instructor at first class.

Claudia Hanna teaches Eat Like a Greek cooking classes at the University of Virginia, James Madison University, the local Children's Museums and within her vibrant community. She teaches people ages 5 - 80+ in simple, comprehensive and easy-to-follow steps for developing a healthy palate using natural, local, and sustainable products. She leads culinary and cultural tours to Cyprus, Turkey, and Greece, where she loves sharing the warm culture and foods of these ancient lands. Claudia raised her two older children in Cyprus, where she learned the art of eating simply, and living authentically. After returning to her home state of Virginia in 2014, she made it her mission to introduce slow and simple recipes that are affordable and accessible to all. In 2021, Claudia partnered with Virginia Public Media to fulfill her dream of creating a foodie podcast for kids. As the Executive Producer of Y Foodz, she is thrilled to entertain and educate families all over the world about the cool, wacky stories of the origins of foods. If we can also get families to cook, eat, and connect together, then her mission will be completed.
