Fundamentals of Mindfulness

This course will introduce students to the skillset known as "mindfulness." As we strengthen the muscle of our attention, we are more able to experience each moment, just as it is, on purpose, without judgement. Each session will include instruction in specific mindfulness practices and include a basic seated meditation. We will also explore breathing exercises, mindfulness of eating, use of mantra, walking mindfulness, visualization, body scans, seated yoga, and metta meditation. In combination with a daily commitment to practice, each student will become more familiar with their inner landscape and habits of mind.

Shari Scofield has been teaching meditation for over 10 years. Her training includes MBSR, Mindful Curriculum Design, Level 1 Healing Touch Certification and 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training. Shari's dedication to mindfulness as a foundational practice, has led to other explorations which inspire and refresh her work with others!
