S20C03 Sun Style Tai Chi for Health & EnjoymentThis course teaches Tai Chi for health, enjoyment, and rehabilitation. We will follow the Sun Style form in which the upright postures flow from one to another. Each movement will be broken down into easy to learn and follow components. Research shows that regular practice of Tai Chi can improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, bone density, and reduce stress, while also minimizing the risk of falling. Students enrolled in a previous session may also join this course, as sustained practice is key to better health.
Helmut Hirsch, a Trustees Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus, whose research interest is in the effects of environment on brain development. He has studied Tai Chi at Asian Arts, Albany NY and is certified by Tai Chi for Health Institute to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis & Falls Prevention and Tai Chi for Rehabilitation.
