Fall in for Fun Down on the Farm

Join Nate and Sandy at Polyface Farms in Swoop, Virginia for a fall tour and lecture. We will learn about daily operations and Joel Salatin's personal mantra of sustainability at the farm. Nate will present a lecture on the sustainable method and why it is not only the right thing, but the smart thing to do. We will then proceed to Mike Lund Food in Staunton where he and his staff specialize in meals prepared from locally sourced foods, some of which comes directly from Polyface Farms. Nate Miller holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a master's in Landscape Architecture. He is a Professor of Horticulture and frequent LLI presenter.

Sandra Conrad is a current member of LLI who also serves as a frequent co-teaching lead. She is a retired decorative arts professional and a former restauranteur.

Chefs Mike Lund and James Harris are dedicated to the eat fresh, local and sustainable creed. Mike and James worked at the iconic Inn at Little Washington and at Staunton's Zynodoa, and continue to work their culinary magic at Mike Lund Food in Staunton.
