B7 Behind the Scenes at The Heritage Museum

Description: Take this opportunity to learn about the best kept secret in Valley history - The Heritage Museum in Dayton! Go behind the scenes for a look at the many aspects of museum programming. See how experienced volunteers collect, preserve, and exhibit the extensive collection of local history artifacts and archives. Discover the resources in the Genealogy & Research Library. Hear about the role of folk music, photography, and storytelling in depicting bygone days of life in the Valley. The topics easily translate to preserving and sharing personal stories and treasures, so hands-on activities will provide opportunities for participants to develop their own mini-exhibits and memoirs.

This course is limited to 20 participants

Instructor: The Heritage Museum Executive Director Penny Imeson will act as facilitator, introducing new topics and guest presenters each week. Museum volunteers and special guests Dorris Wampler and Tom and Jan Scanlan will reveal different aspects of The Heritage Museum's mission of historical education and preservation.


Payment Information: Payment is due at time of registration and must be made by credit card (AMEX, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.) There is a $5 credit card convenience fee assessed at the time of payment. You will be redirected to the payment web site after clicking submit. Please have your credit card ready. Once payment is successfully completed, you will receive a payment receipt and a registration confirmation by email.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up to one week before the class start date, and receive a full refund (minus any credit card processing fees.) After that date, no refunds will be given.
