Known for its breathtaking scenery, world-class performances, and sumptuous meals, Garth Newel is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Garth Newel Music Center is a year-round chamber music venue situated in the heart of Virginia's Allegheny Mountains presenting concerts performed by the Garth Newel Piano Quartet and other renowned guest musicians. Concerts are paired with gourmet meals created by Resident Chef Josh Elliot. The Garth Newel Piano Quartet is known for their spirited and impassioned performances that offer an enlivened interpretation of both standard and new repertoire. They program and perform over 50 concerts each year, engaging with audiences through conversational and interactive programs.

The tour package includes the following:
Round-trip motor coach transportation to Warm Springs, VA
Pre-concert presentation
Gourmet picnic following concert

Price per person $66.00 with a maximum of 30. Reservation with payment is due by July 2, 2018. No cancellations after July 6, 2018 noon.

12 Noon: Depart promptly from JMU Ice House parking lot on W. Bruce St. (No parking pass required)
1:30pm: Arrive Garth Newel
1:45pm: Pre-concert presentation
2:30pm: Cash cocktail bar
3:00pm: Concert
5:00pm: Gourmet picnic
6:00pm: Depart Garth Newel
7:45pm: Approximate arrival in Harrisonburg

Your tour hosts will collect a suggested $2.00 gratuity for the bus driver.

As approved by the Advisory Board, if space is available 21 days before a trip, Lifelong Learning Institute members may bring one non-member guest at the cost of the trip plus an additional $5.00. This additional $5.00 check should be made payable to James Madison University. Non-member guests can pay a one-year membership for $20.00, plus the cost of the trip, and not have to wait until 21 days before a trip.
Responsibility on Tours and Class Trips: The tours and class-associated field trips of the JMU-LLI require walking and the physical capability to access sites that may have structural obstacles. By participating, members understand that should they require personal assistance to participate in tours/field trips, they are responsible for securing such assistance. That responsibility includes registering a person with the Lifelong Learning Institute who can and will be totally responsible for providing all assistance. That person must register as a member and pay the cost of the tour/trip.


Payment Information: Payment is due at time of registration and must be made by credit card (AMEX, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.) There is a $5 credit card convenience fee assessed at the time of payment. You will be redirected to the payment web site after clicking submit. Please have your credit card ready. Once payment is successfully completed, you will receive a payment receipt and a registration confirmation by email.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up to one week before the class start date, and receive a full refund (minus any credit card processing fees.) After that date, no refunds will be given.
