Computer Technician

The Computer Technician non-credit training program is specifically designed to prepare you for CompTIA A+ certification. The curriculum is built on the exam objectives published by CompTIA, and the midterm and final exams are even designed as mock exams that mirror the A+ exams so you can measure your readiness for the certification exams. With this specific preparation, you can be confident that you're gaining the knowledge and skills needed to earn your CompTIA A+ certification immediately upon completion of the course. Two certification exam vouchers are also provided upon program completion to make it even easier to certify as soon as you graduate.

The Computer Technician program covers:

Program includes everything you need to succeed: 6 months of online course access, 2 textbooks, 2 quick reference guides for A+ exam study, computer repair toolkit, power supply tester, USB drive, and 2 CompTIA A+ exam vouchers upon graduation.

CompTIA A+ certification primarily focuses on Windows operating systems. In order to prepare you for this certification, the Computer Technician program does the same. The Computer Technician certification program can be completed on a Mac computer; however, all hands-on labs require access to a Windows operating system.

Choose Pay by Credit Card at checkout. You will be redirected to the credit card payment processor after clicking submit. Please have your credit card ready. Once payment is successfully completed, you will receive a payment receipt and a registration confirmation by email. There is a $5 credit card convenience fee assessed at the time of payment. Credit cards can only be accepted online.

Please complete the registration form and submit with payment to the address shown on form.

--Sallie Mae Career Training Loan, MyCAA or WIA participants--

You must be registered in the program prior to us processing your paperwork. Please complete and submit the registration form by email at outreach@jmu.edu or mail to the address shown on the form.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy for Career Step online non-credit training programs:
Your Career Step online program enrollment will be activated within 2 business days of receiving payment confirmation. If you wish to cancel, you must contact us within 7 days of program enrollment to receive a refund minus a $50.00 administrative fee and any credit card processing fees. Cancellations must be received by email at outreach@jmu.edu. Any items received must be returned to Career Step. No refunds will be given for cancellation requests after 7 days of program enrollment.
