Conversational SpanishThis conversational course is designed to teach the basics of Spanish communication and culture and help students develop basic speaking proficiency. Students will learn phrases to assist with everyday communication, including how to greet others, navigate personal exchanges, order from a menu, and ask for directions. Through guided practice, students will also acquire basic familiarity with nouns, articles, and adjectives and be able to form complete sentences from combined parts of speech. This course series will help develop a basic foundation for understanding and speaking Spanish.
Guillermo (Gil) Fernandez is a native of Nicaragua who came to the United States at age 11. His use of Spanish at home and his public education in English encouraged him to become deeply embedded in both languages and cultures. As a bilingual and bicultural educator, Gil has taught community Spanish classes for various audiences over the past seven years.
