s20A21 Make It, Print It
This course is a continuation of a Fall 2019 session, which is a required prerequisite for participation.
It will teach students to take their 3D design skills to the next level in JMU's 3D printing classroom, 3SPACE. We will use Fusion 360 to design a ring from scratch that will be 3D printed in metal at Shapeways, an online printing service company. 3D design and printing experience not required. Students will pay Shapeways directly when uploading their designs for printing. Printing costs will vary based on the type of material chosen.
Jamie Calcagno-Roach is the Head of Educational Technology team for JMU's Libraries. She loves being in the classroom and has spent the last decade teaching faculty, staff and students different ways to incorporate technology into their teaching and learning. She is a Double Duke with a M.S.Ed. in Adult Education.
Additional fee: Participants will pay Shapeways directly when uploading their designs for printing. Printing costs are estimated at $45.
