F20A6 The Poetry of Emily DickinsonWas Emily Dickinson “The Belle of Amherst?” Was she “Nobody?” Or was she the passionate lover of “Wild Nights?” Perhaps she was all of these. We will explore the mythology surrounding Dickinson and try to frame our own sense of who she was. More importantly, we will read her poems and some of her letters to find out who she is to us today. Why is she one of the most familiar poets in American literature?
