S20B26 French Conversation Skills II
This course is for students who have grasped the French grammar basics and are looking for more practice speaking. We will use a variety of methods such as role-play, discussion, debate, oral presentation, and board games to ensure that learning remains fun. The goal is to build up confidence to hold a conversation on various topics, and we will focus on fluency, pronunciation and the common everyday vocabulary used by French people. Authentic documents such as songs from francophone artists and short videos will be used to help with listening comprehension.
Mélanie Munier Caskill is a French instructor at James Madison University since 2017. She was born and raised in France where she was a journalist and a French teacher before moving to Harrisonburg in 2016. Mélanie has a Masters degree in Science of Education, and loves sharing her passion for French language, culture and history.
