Narrating HolocaustNarratives of the Jewish Holocaust are abundant. This course will examine familial narratives of the Holocaust—memoirs, biographies, autobiographies, and tributes. We will read chosen books ahead of class and interpret their content for their literary and historical value. Our goal is to understand the power of historical narrative to trauma and atrocity. Students should be prepared to make plans to borrow or buy the books referenced in this course.
