Discover Luray
Join us as we visit our National Arboretum in Washington DC. Established in 1927, the arboretum functions as a major center of botanical research. The 446 acres contain a variety of fauna and flora. Among the highlights you will view as you walk leisurely through the gardens are Historic Roses, a flowering tree collection, dwarf conifers, azaleas and their famous Bonsai and Penjing Collection. You will need to bring your own snacks and lunch as there is no food prepared at the site. You may bring your own beverage or use the vending machines that are available. There are places on the grounds where you may stop and enjoy your lunch at your convenience. Wear comfortable clothing and layers for warm or chilly weather and be sure to have on walking shoes for this day of visual pleasure.
