ED-Venture: From Pixels to Paper: Transforming Your Photos into Note Cards

Session One - Wednesday, June 3, 2015 and
Session Two - Friday, June 5, 2015

Location: The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Ice House
Facilitator: Lynn Whitmore , an Arboretum photography enthusiast and scrapbooker and award winning photographer

Session One, June 3: 9:00-11:00 a.m. begin the first part of the experience at the Arboretum, bringing a digital camera with a formatted memory card and fully charged camera battery. Lynn will review good photo composition techniques like the Rule of Thirds and leading lines. She will also show participants a variety of Arboretum locations for taking digital pictures. Most of Session One will be an opportunity for assistance. The conclusion of Session One will be a demonstration of tweaking Arboretum photos prior to printing them. Tweaking photos can be as simple as improving color contrast, cropping, and adjusting any tilting pictures before the actual printing.

June 4, the day in between Session One and Session Two, participants will take their Arboretum photos on camera memory cards to print at least fifteen 4 inch by 6 inch photos at one-hour self-service photo printing locations such as Wal-Mart, King Photo, or Costco. Participants will pay to have their own photos printed. Those fifteen photos are a key essential to concluding the ED-Venture in Session Two.

Session Two, June 5: 9:00-11:00 a.m., participants will meet at the Ice House, 127 W. Bruce St. Each person will bring at least fifteen prints, pictures made during Session One. Lynn will demonstrate the making of photo note cards. Each person will have the opportunity to make 10 notecards, using the scrapbooking techniques and resources Lynn will provide.

This ED-Venture is limited to 20 participants.
There is a supplies fee of $8 to be paid to the instructor at the first meeting. Full instructions will be emailed to all participants.
Reservation and payment is due by May 20, 2015. No cancellations after May 27.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up to May 27th, and receive a full refund (minus any credit card processing fees.) After that date, no refunds will be given.
