Annual Lincoln Family Cemetery EventJoin Phil Stone, founder and president of the Lincoln Society of Virginia, for an annual program recognizing President Lincoln, his contributions to American history, and his local connections. Five generations of Lincoln's relatives are buried at the Lincoln Family Cemetery.
The ceremony, free and open to the public, has been conducted every year since 1976, and will be held at 2:00 p.m., whatever the weather.
From Harrisonburg: From corner of Route 33 West (W. Market Street) and Route 42 (Virginia Avenue) in Harrisonburg, travel 8.3 miles north on Route 42 (Harpine Highway).
From the north: South of Broadway on Route 42 and just south at the junction of VA 684. Turn on the east side of the road in a field just north of the Lincoln home.
Parking is available, but walking several hundred yards to the event site is necessary.
Price per person: Free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
