Sociology of ChildhoodThis course is targeted towards individuals who work with children and who want to further educate themselves about what creates or shapes a child's life, and why. In this course, taught by Dr. Hannah Henry Smith, you will investigate a range of issues shaping contemporary childhoods and use a sociological 'lens' to bring fresh perspectives to our professional experiences. You will also explore the value of understanding how children experience and shape their social worlds, how sociological perspectives fit with our disciplinary backgrounds, and how we can use these insights to navigate the opportunities and challenges of our professional work.
