With a JMU Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, you will be qualified to understand how to support organizational change through project management, communication, and technical process improvement. You will be able to quantify deliverables to an organization in terms of cost, quality, cycle time or safety improvements.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belts are participants in Six Sigma projects and the foundation of the process. They understand problem solving, data collection, data interpretation, variation, process capability, and cost analysis. Green Belts often assist Black Belts on larger initiatives and lead smaller scale projects.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program includes a total of 40 hours of online education with 20 hours of self-paced learning and 20 hours of live instructor-led online sessions. Instructor-led sessions are conveniently scheduled during evening hours to better fit into your busy professional schedule.

In order to earn your Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, you must score at least a 70% on the final exam and not miss more than one of the live lectures. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt through James Madison University.

Online class meetings are Mon-Fri from 6:30-8:30p ET on the second and fourth weeks.

Registration Deadline: Registration closes 2 weeks prior to class start date. Late registrations may be accepted up to 5 business days prior to the class start date and will incur a $25 late registration fee.

You will receive an orientation email approx 3 business days prior to class start date.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up to two weeks before the program start date, and receive a full refund (minus $25.00 administrative fee and any credit card processing fees.) After that date, no refunds will be given. Cancellations must be received by email at outreach@jmu.edu. Participants may transfer to a future program (within one year of your original program), based on availability, with no penalty.
